Installing technical flooring in a winery is not just about laying a resistant surface. It means designing a complete flooring system capable of withstanding acids, humidity, heavy traffic, and intensive washing cycles—while ensuring both safety and durability.
For a winery project in Franciacorta, we installed an acid-resistant technical porcelain stoneware system, specifically engineered for food-grade industrial environments.
Substrate Preparation
The project began with the construction of a reinforced concrete screed finished with quartz, designed with the correct slopes to facilitate liquid drainage. After complete curing, the surface was scarified to optimize adhesion for the technical ceramic covering. Expansion joints were then cut into the reinforced concrete, ensuring proper sectioning and the ability to absorb mechanical stress.
Installation of the Hexagonal Flooring System
For installation, a cementitious adhesive C2 TE S1 was used, guaranteeing elasticity and performance even under mechanical and thermal stress. The client chose the exclusive Cipa Gres solution with special hexagonal pieces type “A” + “B”, which allow faster and more precise installation, creating a continuous, functional, and visually distinctive floor. The 6 cm hexagonal format is the only system capable of delivering a seamless ceramic surface that is resistant, hygienic, and easy to sanitize.
Performance and Safety with Certified Anti-Slip Finish
In a food and beverage facility such as a winery, worker safety is paramount. The flooring was completed with a certified anti-slip finish to reduce risks in the presence of moisture and acidic substances.
